Cathy Harris Comes Clean On An Eye Issue - How Western Medicine Almost Blinded Me

April 1, 2016

by CathyHarrisInternational.com

In 2015, my motto was "It's Time to Come Clean in 2015" - however, I always like sharing the truth with my waiting audience.

One of the most greatest thrills a reader can have as they go gracefully into their golden years, is to be able to read a book. However, many Seniors today are facing blindness.

Not only is reading a book one of the greatest pleasures that one can have in their lives, Seniors would like to keep their independence by continuing to drive cars, however, many Seniors have to park their cars, especially at nighttime because they cannot see.

Blindness is indeed a major issue today, not just for Seniors, but many kids in schools can't see the bulletin boards and many parents don't even know to get their children's eyes checked, especially families that live in low-income communities.

I will never forget the day when my youngest daughter told me, "Mom tell the teacher to stop writing with colored chalk."  What she was telling me is that she couldn't see the bulletin board and that she needed to be checked to see if she needed glasses.

I had never worn glasses so it did not occur to me to have my two daughter's eyes checked. At 59 I wear bifocals for reading and writing but I can see fine otherwise. I have no issue driving at nighttime but I have friends who refuses to get behind the wheel at nighttime.

My ex and my daughter's father did wear glasses so because they had a parent that wore glasses, I should have known to get their eyes checked at an early age.

After taking my daughters in to get their eyes checked, they both started wearing glasses before the age of 10, so parents get your kids eyes checked.

Not only did they start wearing glasses but I made sure that their teachers knew to sit both of them closer to the front of the room. I believe this alone helped me raise smart, talented and responsible children, who was always good students that excelled in their studies.

Not only did they both go on and get their Master's Degrees but they both became business owners in their early 20s.

India was the testing ground for Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) and this country has the highest blind population in the world, so GMOs can probably be contributed today to many Seniors and others going blind.

In the last e-newsletter in March 2016, I mentioned what happened to me when I was diagnosed with glaucoma and how I was able to heal my ownself holistically, through my diet, exercising, sleep and detoxification, instead of going on medication.

But today I want to mention another issue that was also related to my eyes a few years later. I never had any more issues with glaucoma and even today, doctors are telling me that the veins in the back of my eyes looks great.

However, I had another eye issue, 3 years ago. Before now I felt I could not mention this issue because I wanted to make sure it had been addressed fully and I was on my way to recovery from what happened.

I never want my waiting audience to look at me as a victim but instead as an Empowerment Speaker, that will educate, inform and empower the masses. There is a lesson in all stories and you have to tell your story from a position of power - not defeat.

Back in January 2013, I left Atlanta after 20 years, only a few weeks after my car was almost stolen twice, so this time had been very stressful for me.

I did not leave solely because of the attempted car thiefs but it was one of my main decisions after realizing that the area of city I was living in, had become a crime-infested area.

After 5 years most communities will deteriorate unless the community demands that politicians allocate funds for the upkeep.

Anyway, after leaving the city, for a 15 state tour, my first stop was Detroit, MI. It was my intentions to spend an entire year on the road, which I eventually did.

However, at the beginning of my tour, I woke up one morning and could not see out of my right eye. It was like a fingerprint was over my eye so I sought out help from the VA hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Luckily my first stop on the tour was my daughter's state so she drove me to an appointment. I felt really comfortable with the eye specialist that was assigned to my case.

He said I had had an "eye stroke" and that basically because of what had happened to me, I should have had diabetes - not just diabetes but a bad case of diabetes.

When you hear the word that you have had any kind of stroke, it's really scary. The first question out of my mouth was "Am I At Risk for a Stroke of the Brain?"

Most strokes can be mild or acute.  Acute strokes arenow a treatable condition that warrants urgent specialist attention. Drug treatment and specialist care both influence survival and recovery -- so the sooner you get to the emergency room after a stroke, the best chance you will have of survival.

However, many stokes can leave many people unable to speak and sometimes even paralyzed on their left side, where many will end up in nursing homes.

And no one want to go blind from a stroke so the situation was pretty scary. Weeks earlier I had felt a slight pain throughout my face on the right side, where the stroke occurred so I guess there was an issue with blood restriction to my eyes.

However, aside from the stressful few weeks in Atlanta dealing with the car thiefs, at age 56, I was in pretty good shape and have never had diabetes and for the past few years, none of my numbers were ever out of range -- so what happened to me was a complete mystery.

It puzzled me so of course I had to figure out why this had happened to me. After deep thought and concentration on what could have caused this problem, I finally contributed it to having a complete (total) hysterectomy a few years earlier.

Once you have a "complete" or "total" hysterectomy, you are at risk for heart disease, Alzheimers and Osteoporosis, so again ladies never undergo this procedure. Always keep at least one ovary. I had had the procedure at the young age of 48.

This could also be why many nursing homes today are filled with Alzheimer's patients because of how they use to give unnecessary and unwarranted hysterectomies years earlier. They are even calling Alzheimer's "Type 3 Diabetes."

I am glad to announce it's been 3 years since my eye stroke and at 59, I was able to regain at least 95% of my eye sight back.

At the time the treatment was for the doctor to stick a needle in my eye to break up the blood vessels or I could just wait for everything to go back to normal -- so of course I elected to wait until the blood vessels dispersed on their own.

My eyesight starting returning pretty quickly after it happened without any medications and no medical procedures. However, I helped it by continuing to eat good foods, exercising and getting plenty of rest, and even engaging in detox programs, despite being on tour on the road.

Today I also take Vitamin E and the herb Gingko Biloboa, every 3 or 4 days, which are blood thinners that helps with circulation throughout my body -- so hopefully I won't have this problem again.

However, you have to be careful with blood thinners, especially if you are on any other blood thinning medications, "over-the-counter" or "prescribed" or any type of other medication because if you have any type of injury, you could bleed out.

So if you are ever admitted to an emergency room or is scheduled for a surgery, it's imperative to tell a doctor that you are on blood thinning medications or supplements.

But I am not on any medications and I rarely ever take anything over the counter.  After a couple of weeks of rest, I was raring to get out there -- so I started holding events in Detroit then I branched out to Ohio and other states and the rest is history.

What if my condition had kept me from living my dreams? I had always wanted to put all my belongings in storage and just hit the road. I believe everything in life happens for a reason and I believe this happened to me so I could continue to be a voice for women -- everywhere.

Holistic medicine is under attack today by the government and many believe in the future that holistic healers will be totally put out of business but I will never stop sounding the horn on Western Medicine and how you can have repercussions years later after unnecessary procedures.

Five years after I had my complete hysterectomy, I realized I should have never allowed doctors to do this to me but basically I woke up too late and now I have to deal with the consequences.

The message in this article is to learn everything you can before going under the knife for any procedure. Learn everything you can about how the human body actually operates and you can start by reading my first health book "How To Take Control of Your Own Life: A Self-Help Guide To Becoming Healthier Over the Next 30 Days" - available as an e-book and paperback.

Spring Is In the Air

April 1, 2016

Hello Everyone:

Well it's April 2016 and Spring is definitely in the air. Not only are plants and flowers blooming but many of you will get on antihistamines that causes ED and other ailments simply because you think you have environmental allergies.

Some of you will be on this over-the-counter medication for 2 to 3 months, or longer, even as long as 6 months, while it causes all type of havoc to your body.

Just some of the side effects include - dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, restlessness or moodiness (in some children), trouble urinating or not being able to urinate, blurred vision and confusion.

But before getting on these over-the-counter or prescribed antihistamines for environmental allergies, look at the foods you are eating first and read the book "Eat Right 4 Your Type."

Many times you will have food allergies instead of environmental allergies but also remember that most foods comes from plants.

Pay Attention to Your Allergies

There are two types of allergies, "Food" and "Environmental" allergies, which causes people to suffer needlessly. Environmental allergies are also called "airborne" allergies.

Both types of allergies can cause you to be tired; miss days at work; have a chronic sore throat; feel achy; and can affect all parts of your body.

Food Allergies

Many processed foods causes "food allergies" and "food sensitivities" that can place stress on the immune system, so try to figure out which foods you need to eliminate from your diet.

If your allergies are thought to be "food related," keep a food diary and track foods eaten and the body's response to them in order to identify offending foods.
Some of the foods that you can be allergic to include -- milk or dairy products, eggs, nuts, avocadoes, rice, wheat, soy, corn, grapes, strawberries, cantaloupes, chocolate, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.

Remember Genetically Modified foods, especially corn that is in all processed foods, causes food allergies. Food allergies causes depression. If you are eating GMOs (or processed foods), more than likely your body will have some type of allergic reaction to most of these foods.

It doesn't mean you will break out in red spots, but more than likely, these foods will cause you to feel weak, sluggish or run-down.  Food should give you energy, not make you feel tired or exhausted.

My holistic doctor, who is also a chiropractor told me I was allergic to oatmeal, strawberries, MSG, food additives, coffee and aluminum.

Once I stopped eating these foods or foods that contained the ingredients, I started feeling absolutely great! My advice to anyone is, don't wait another moment, get tested today from a holistic specialist or chiropractor who specializes in this field.

Food allergies can mask themselves in different ways including acne, especially pimples on the chin or around the mouth; epilepsy; arthritis; asthma; chest and shoulder pain; colitis; depression; fatigue; food cravings; headaches; hemorrhoids; insomnia; intestinal problems; muscle disorder; obesity; sinus problems; ulcers and unexplained dramatic weight gain or loss.
Food allergies often causes symptoms that mimic bladder infections. Have you ever felt like you have a urinary tract infection or bladder infection but you are okay in 48 hours? Well you have just experienced a food allergy. Once the foods have passed out of your system, the symptoms will disappear - maybe.

So when this happens, try to go back and look at the foods you ate over the past 3 days or 72 hours. Also food allergies are linked to hypoglycemia, an abnormally low level of glucose in your blood. So understand up front that food allergies and food sensitivities are real issues that you need to pay attention to.

Environmental Allergies

People might have an environmental allergy to ragweed, mold, oak, cockroaches, dust mites, feathers, horses, weeds, trees, pollen, the urine and saliva of a dog, etc.
For environmental or airborne allergies, you can purchase an air filter to clean pollen, mold, and dust from your home or office.

Frequent exposure to allergens combined with a weakened immune system can result in the development of allergies. If you can avoid contact with known allergens, you can reduce the misery of allergy symptoms.

Some hay fever sufferers experience relief almost as soon as they drink two or more glasses of water. The best time to take allergy or asthma medication is between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m.

Pollen season can play havoc on allergy sufferers. If you suffer from seasonal allergies you should:
  • Keep windows closed in your home and car
  • Buy special home or car filters
  • Use the recirculate setting on your car air conditioner
  • Use your home air conditioner to deliver clean, dry, and cool air
  • Do not use an attic fan for ventilation
  • Exercise indoors when possible
  • Schedule outdoor activities carefully (pollen counts are highest early in the morning so outdoor activities/exercises in the evening are best)
  • Avoid outdoors on dry windy days
  • Take a vacation during the pollen season (Seashore is likely to have lower pollen exposures)
  • Avoid mowing lawns, raking or blowing leaves, because it stirs up pollens and molds
  • Wash your clothes and your hair after being out in the pollen
  • Don't hang your sheets and clothes out to dry in the pollen
  • Wash your pet after being out in the pollen

The Day My Medical Doctor (MD) Admitted the Truth About the Medical Industry

Mar. 3, 2016 by Cathy Harris

Glaucoma is a disease that many African Americans are at risk of having, especially if they have family history.

A few years back, a civilian doctor, an eye specialist, told me I was at risk for glaucoma because the veins at the back of my eyes looked compromised.

If these veins in the back of your eyes shrink to an unhealthy size, then you are risking going blind. So he left me with a gut-wrenching decision of getting on medications or treating myself holistically with a proper diet, exercise, plenty of sleep and regular detoxifications.

Holistic healing unlike Western Medicine, treats the entire individual.  I knew that eating green foods, which builds your body and antioxidant foods, the blue, purple, red, yellow and orange foods, which helps regrow your cells and eating foods in as natural forms as possible (juiced, steamed, blended) - could actually heal any type of health issue because "Your foods are your medicine."

I knew that eye health was connected to an organ, my liver, so if I could get my liver in better shape by using a holistic approach, then there was a good chance that my eyes would improve and that is what happened.

What's unfortunate is that many people don't know much about the liver at all - except that drinking too much alcohol can damage it.

They don't know that the liver is the largest detoxification organ in the body and that most people's livers today are only operating at 30% because of toxic GMO processed foods and living in toxic environments inside of their homes.

I knew that doctors do everything they can to put patients on medications so r isking going blind, instead of getting on the medication, which was eye drops, I decided to treat myself holistically through my diet, exercise, rest and through regular detoxifications.

When I conducted research about what would have happened if I had started using the eye drops, I found out that if I had allowed the doctor to put me on the drops, my good cholesterol, HDL, would go down, which meant, I would end up on more medications.

So you can see how medications really work. Once you get on one medication, because of side effects, you will end up on more medications.

People are always telling me that I have one of those approachable attitudes. I always try to have a smile on my face and absolutely love meeting and greeting new people.

It probably stems from working over 20 years in the U.S. Customs Service, when we had to greet international travelers as they came into this country and many of them for the first time. So we always had to have a smile on our faces.

Before using my VA benefits and dealing with VA doctors, my primary doctor, an internist, a civilian doctor of 10 years, made a chilling statement to me.

He was African American, about 48 years old and always saw me reading books on natural and holistic health healing, while I waited in his office for my regular checkups.

He had commented on a couple of occasions that I was on the right track by reading the books and that the information in the books is what will actually be able to save my life.

I thought it was strange for an MD to make a statement supporting the natural and holistic community, however, I always had the feeling that this was an "out of the box" doctor.

We had held some great conversations about life and things that were happening today. But one day out of the blue he stated to me"Ms. Harris, We Only Exist to Keep People on Medications." And I am sick of it and I wish I could blow the whistle on the entire industry. The medications out here today is killing people and again I am sick of it. Then he stated, "I have never switched medications in the past 20 years even when the pharmaceutical reps brings around new medications."

This was a profound statement made by a Medical Doctor (MD), not a doctor with a Ph.D but a Medical Doctor, who would have been more believable if he had come forward. I already knew this but this doctor risked it all to make this statement to me.

You see he knew that I was a whistleblower and had watched my story "The Cathy Harris Story," unfold on TV in Atlanta, GA, some years earlier.

So I always have had others trying to expose their industries by blowing the whistle to me and this is why I have access to a ton of info, especially when it comes to your health.

As part of the American Whistleblower Tour, I have sat on panels with the Plan B Whistleblower, FDA, EPA, USDA, VA, Meat Industry and Peanut Whistleblowers and many other food industry whistleblowers.

If this Medical Doctor had come forward, his livelihood, like most whistleblowers today, would be over. But I hope most of you can take away the real message from this article -- that there are remedies and cures for any ailment in holistic and natural communities, which are located in every city.

You should also take away the fact that once you get on medications, chances are you will end up on even more medications and that the medications out here today are ending the lives of many, many people.

Most people over the age of 65 are on at least 5 medications and many seniors are on 3 to 4 medications -- just for high blood pressure.

With high blood pressure, doctors don't even bother to take you off the medications, they just put you on more.

Medications causes your organs to give out and heart disease (heart failure/organ failure) is the number one cause of death in this country.

Cancer is number 2 (Number one for children under age 15), and Diabetes is number 3 (Diabetes is number 1 in the African American Community) and the reasons they have those long "warning messages" after TV commercials introducing you to medications is because many people are dying in this country from prescription overdose, especially in emergency rooms. So I would say that prescription overdose is the 4th reason that most people die in this country.

Even the pharmaceutical reps that brings medications around to doctor's offices and hospitals, avoid medications because like doctors, they know that medications are killing many, many, many people today. So don't forget that "Your foods are your medicine."
