Do You in 2015

Dec. 30, 2014

by CathyHarrisSpeaks.com, Empowerment & Motivational Speaker

Too many of us are stuck in places and have not come up with definite plans of action to get unstuck.  As everyone prepare for a comeback from this mini-depression in 2015, my advice is to DO YOU IN 2015.  First you need to come totally clean with your life then figure out what will truly make you happy.

As most of you know through my business, AngelsPress.com, an empowerment and publishing company and as an Empowerment Guru, I often tell my audience to feel free to ask me any questions so that my advice can help them move forward.  A reader recently asked me how could she get national magazines to take her freelance articles.

My response was to DO YOU IN 2015.  Because of the economy, most or many of these national magazines are about to go out of business.  Over the past few years, we have watch the quality of many of these magazines reach an all-time low.  These magazines have always catered to their advertisers who don't always have a positive message.

Essence Magazine is now white-owned and the quality of their articles have really deteriorated.  After 63 years Jet Magazine has gone from print to digital only so why are you trying to get your articles in national magazines when they are struggling to hang on by a thread?

I do believe, however, that every black household need to have a digital and paper subscription to BlackEnterprise.com.

Technology has changed everything and we have not seen anything yet.  Since we now live in a new digital age, national magazines that have not changed their format won't survive.  So therefore, my advice to you is to DO YOU IN 2015

Since you have been gifted or been blessed with the ability to write -- then you have one of the best talents in the world.  Many people won't be able to start a business in this lifetime or express themselves simply because they don't have the ability to put their words on paper.  Not everyone can write especially since that took cursive out of most schools.

Being able to write means you can become a 'voice for the voiceless.'  So get your own audience instead of trying to get the audiences of these national magazines.  There are billions of people in the world so carve out your own niche.

A niche is a place or position suitable or appropriate for a person or thing.  As an Empowerment and Motivational Speaker who continues to conduct extensive research and who has access to a large amount of information, I specialize in 'Self Help' and 'How To' information.

I put this information out to my own audience in the form of articles, books (e-books, paperback books, and audiobooks), newsletters, radio shows -- The Cathy Harris Show, youtube.com postings Cathy Harris TV, teleseminars and soon webinars, and empowerment seminars and workshops at www.CathyHarrisSpeaks.com.

My advice to you is to stop running behind these national networks and create your own network.  With all the social media networks out there -- Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Linkedin.com, Instagram.com, Pinterest.com, Ning.com, Yahoogroups.com, Google hangouts - just to name a few, there are billions of people waiting to get your message so DO YOU IN 2015

At one time I was just as guilty as others.  When I initially became a whistleblower, TheCathyHarrisStory.com, in 1999, and because the media was the best outlet for a whistleblower, I ran behind civil rights leaders to help me keep my story in the media.

I also ran behind media entities to help me tell my story -- until I became a civil rights leader, a freelance writer and a syndicated columnist and started writing my own line of articles to tell my own story.

No one knew my story better than me so it was important that I told my own story initially in my first book in 2001"Flying While Black: A Whistleblower's Story" which has been revised into two books "The Cathy Harris Story: A Whistleblower's Victorious Journey to Justice" and "The Failure of Homeland In-Security: The Government's Dirty Little Secrets from an Insiderunder my own company, AngelsPress.com.

Most people spend their entire lives running behind these national networks which have readers that have literally put their lives on hold.  According to experts, over 95% of people are drifting through life and 5% is making something turn up.  So you need to decide if you will be in the 95% or the 5%.

I am definitely in the 5%.  Get your own audience and get out there and educate people.  Even though I think it's important to form business alliances and strategic partnerships, it's important that you start off by DOING YOU.

Many people are so desperate to be a part of something -- that they get involved in negative networks, for instance, many African Americans join groups dealing with Network and Multi-Level Marketing (aka Pyramid Schemes).

As everyone prepare to make a comeback from this mini-depression, what we need right now is 'everyone on deck.'  Everyone with the abilities to educate, inform and empower need to get off the sidelines or come out of the shadows and create their own empowerment networks.

We need mobile training centers, empowerment institutes, non-fiction book clubs, Let's Read Campaigns, etc. and every home, car, and office must literally become a learning center.
In your home it's imperative that you listen to FREE teleseminars, low-cost webinars, teachings on social networking sites especially on YouTube.com (Cathy Harris TV).

It's estimated that most people especially our youth watch at least 7 to 8 hours of TV everyday.  If you are not looking at discovery channel, animal channel, history channel, financial shows and other empowerment networks on TV -- then there is no reason that your TV should be on.

Every child need to have their own reading devices versus TVs.  Amazon.com, the largest online book publishing website, have tons of FREE e-books.

In your car you need to listen daily to empowerment audiobooks while you drive -- instead of 'booty-shaking' music.  Unlike in the past, there are very few positive radio networks out there and you can't expect the ones that are left to offer good educational shows.  It's never going to happen!

If you work in a workplace and you get 30 minutes to an hour for lunch then sit in your car or another quiet place and read books (e-books, paperbacks, audiobooks), listen to educational shows or youtube.com postings.

Only 3% of Americans have library cards so it's imperative for everyone to get back into the library.  Go to the library at least once or twice a week and find out what your public library has for you in books (ebooks, paperbacks and audiobooks), CDs, DVDs, recycled magazines, newspapers, etc.

Just some of the ways everyone can educate themselves in a new field include -- 2 Year Community Colleges; 4 Year Colleges and Universities; Technical Schools; Adult Education Classes; Online Internet Courses; Correspondence Courses; Unemployment Offices; Small Business Administration (SBA.gov); Small Business Development Centers (SBDC); Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE.org) - just to name a few.

People learn differently but 'self-education' will be key if you plan on turning your life around.  If you are a detail-oriented person then you might do better reading books and other material to learn but if you have a hard time focusing, you will probably do better asking questions and taking notes at community classes, seminars and workshops or even listening to educational radio shows, teleseminars and webinars from your home.

Mainstream media monitors internet radio and other social media networks for their stories so these are great ways to build your own national network.

There is no white horse coming to rescue anyone.  You are the white horse -- so that person in the mirror (Y-O-U) can be your 'best friend' or your 'worst enemy' so don't forget to work on you first.

The goal is to "Change Your Food and Change Your Life."  Because foods affects every area of your life from your mood, to your behavior, to your happiness and your enjoy quality of life -- make sure you are getting your daily dose of good, natural and raw nutrients in your diet while you clean up your environment by going totally natural from head to toe.

Then implement the 12 steps into your life at "Cathy Harris 12 Steps To Wellness" which came directly from my first health book How To Take Control of Your Own Life: A Self-Help Guide to Becoming Healthier Over the Next 30 Days (Series 3)" -- so read that book.

Once you work on you -- everything around you will change.  You will be ready to live a balanced life and your brain will finally be in syn with your body and life will hand you all types of possibilities and opportunities for living a great life.  But first and foremost you have to show up in your own life and take back control of your own life and DO YOU.

Dreams Derailed - Are You Ready to Get Back On Track With Your Dreams?

Sep. 15, 2014

I haven't written a blog post for a while due to my move from Tampa, FL to Philadelphia, PA to Austin, TX. This week's blog post is entitled "Dreams Derailed."

With all the despair and hopelessness in this country at this time, I want to inspire everyone with my tips on how to get back on track with living your dreams. Many people have gotten off track with their dreams and don't know which direction to turn.

Sometimes it's because of their real lack of desire to change their lives. For some reason or another --, people are afraid of changes especially as they age but this is especially the time that everyone should think about how they will live the rest of their lives.

Change in itself can bring about true happiness and I am living proof of that.  In January 2013, I left Atlanta, GA after 20 years in search of a new home and environment since my neighborhood had become a crime-infested area and I wanted a new group of customers and clients for my business, Angels Press (http://www.angelspress.com).

After living my dreams by being on the road for an entire year and traveling to 15 states with "The Cathy Harris Empowerment Tour" -- which was a "National Humanitarian Tour," I finally realized that I wanted to settle down in Austin, TX, where I will be building new business empowerment networks in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and other surrounding areas.

Many people have gotten off track because of the people they have allowed to come into their lives. Many times it could be family members, relationships, friends or associates that will keep people from living their dreams.

Remember, other people won't see your dreams so it's important for you to protect your dreams by getting "co-dreamers". So surround yourself with people who will help protect your dreams.

No matter what has caused you to get off track, getting back on track will be about dedication, commitment, self-discipline, and will-power.

A great philosopher once said, "You are what you think about all day long" -- so first for you to move in the directions of your dreams, you need to protect your thoughts. Anytime a negative thought creeps into your mind, you need to replace it with a positive thought.

The great philosopher also said, "Change your thoughts and change your life." So again what you are thinking about all day long -- you will become? If you think about poverty, hunger, and disease -- then that is what you will manifest in your life. If you think about being happy, energetic and full of life, then that's the type of life you will live.

When you get out of bed everyday your goal should be to walk in the direction of your dreams and the best way to do this is to be positive. The best way to stay positive is to turn your brain back on by eating natural, fresh, raw, organic foods (eat from the land); Turn off the stove because heat depletes nutrients -- and juice, blend and steam green foods (the darker the green the better), which builds up your body and releases serotonin in your brain which makes you feel good; Take 1,000 to 2,000 mg of Vitamin D-3 everyday, which is the mood vitamin; Get at least 20 minutes of sunlight everyday which will help your mood; Take 2 tablespoons of Omega 3 Flaxseed Oil everyday, which is good for your brain, skin, hair, nails, PMS/Menopause, prostate, etc.; and engage in a regular exercise program which releases endorphins in your brain which makes you feel good.

Also, get plenty of sleep every night by going to bed at the same time every night. Don't forget to clean up your environment by going totally natural from your head to toe by using only natural products on your body and natural products to clean your house with.

Once you turn your brain back on, you will not believe the opportunities and possibilities that will present itself in your life. You will be able to see your entire life in a new light and get back on course with moving in the directions of your dreams. Good luck!  CathyHarrisSpeaks.com

Speaking 101

April 24, 2014

Hey All:

You know I love you, right?  My blog post this week is Speaking 101.  I don't post a blog post every week but only when I have something really relevant to say or when I reach some type of milestone in my life.

I can officially call myself an "audio producer" and "audiobook narrator."  I have 35 videos at Cathy Harris TV and I just finished my first audiobook "Diabetes 101: 3rd Largest Killer."   Wow...what an experience!!!  I can't believe I did it!!!

The audiobook will be available soon at Amazon.com, Audible.com and Itunes.com and with me at my events especially since Diabetes is the number one killer of African Americans.

At this point in my life, I really wasn't looking for anymore titles, but as a business owner, you will find out that you will end up doing a lot of the work your ownself especially if you want it done right.

I use to hate how I sounded on recordings.  But remember most people are their biggest critics.  Sometimes your biggest enemy will be that brain between your two ears telling you what you can or cannot do.

Remember the old voice recorders, I thought my voice sounded like a frog but as I grew older -- I learned to love my voice.  We all have things that we don't like about ourselves and sometimes those things can become our greatest assets.  However, I still cringe sometimes when I hear my voice but at this point in my life, it's as good as it gets.

What everyone need to understand is that everyone is human and you should never give up on yourself and the possible talents you might have that can help others.  Remember everyone has some type of talent or passion which is of value to others.

Becoming a speaker was hard work along the way.  After being on anti-depressants for one year after I blew the whistle in 1998, not only did I have memory loss, but I had to work with a speech coach from a college just to learn how to talk again.

I also attended toastmasters.org which was very beneficial in helping me present to an audience which I recommend for any business owner especially all up and coming speakers and authors.

Medications of any kind will not only mess you up, all medications (especially antidepressants) will have side effects and will sometimes take away abilities that you may never get back again.  However, I am happy to announce my memories eventually returned and that was the only time in my entire life that I have ever been on medications.

When I retired from U.S. Customs in 2005, and launched my company, AngelsPress.com, I was a speaker but not an Empowerment Speaker.  So my company at that time was only a publishing company - not empowerment company.

The only topics I was well-versed in was "workplace discrimination" and "international traveling" -- but most people don't fight back so I knew I could not build a second career on the topic of workplace discrimination or even international traveling -- so I had to gain access to topics that people really wanted to hear more about.

So how did I do that?  In order to gain valuable knowledge and put myself in a position to have access to great information, not only did I continue with a national e-newsletter that I had launched in 1998 to expose U.S. Customs, National Black Agenda Online, but my home and car literally became a learning center.

In 2012, I launched an initiative to show others what they needed to do to take control of their own lives and gain valuable information

Every step I have taken in my life up until now seem to have been in divine order to put me where I really needed to be to bring peace, joy, and happiness into my life and the people's lives that I care deeply about.

I want to thank everyone who have known me over the years for your support and others who are getting to know me now.  I wish you nothing but peace, joy, and happiness and as an Empowerment and Motivational Speaker, I will continue alongside of you in the fight to make your lives and the lives of the people you care deeply about ...like heaven...on earth.  Just remember "All in Divine Order."    CathyHarrisSpeaks.com

My Year on the Road: How I Found True Happiness by Living My Dreams

By CathyHarrisSpeaks.com

At 57 years old, I count my blessings every day and feel really blessed on how my life has turned out - so far.  I have had a lot of successes in my life such as two daughters graduating with Master's Degrees and are now business owners; I helped protect black women international travelers from my co-workers when I became a federal whistleblower; I won my discrimination lawsuit against my job and retired at the age of 48; I started my own empowerment and publishing company in 2005 and now have 20 books released and offer some of the best self-improvement seminars and workshops in the country; and now -- I spent one year on the road traveling, building my company, AngelsPress.com, and living my dreams - just to name a few.  Can it really get better than this?

Change brings about happiness in your life, but why are so many people afraid of change? Last year in December 2012, I decided to purge my life of things which I realized would allow me more energy to focus more on what really mattered in my life.

I realized the reason I had been so successful in my life, so far, was that I was never materialistic. So purging my life of things was easy for me and it allowed me to move even closer to my dreams.

Some people need things to validate their lives (beautiful homes, beautiful cars, beautiful clothes, etc.) and they rather spend valuable money to get these things while they ignore the one and the most important thing in their lives - THEIR HEALTH.

Many people live their lives eating bad foods -- feeling sick, sluggish and run-down. They are surrounded by beautiful things that they can't really enjoy because they ignore their health. Many are empty inside because they have nothing of value to offer the world and I never wanted that to be my story.

After my daughter's car was stolen from in front of my place when she visited me in Atlanta, GA and after I experienced two attempted car thiefs in my area myself, I realized my neighborhood wasn't what it use to be and it was time for me to move on or out of that area. When neighborhoods go bad, it's just time to move on. I had never lived around crime and I was not about to start now - not during my Golden Years!

Not only did I move out of the area, I decided to move out of the city totally. What I was preparing to do with my life was bigger than Atlanta and it needed to be shared with the world. And because of this decision, I was able to manifest even more joy and happiness into my life by moving even closer to my dreams.

Traveling has always been a dream of mine. After all, that's why I had joined the military years ago. Because I was in my 50s, I realized I still had 40% of my productive life left still left ahead of me so I realized it was time to take the steps necessary to find even more happiness in my life.

Because of purging my life of things and concentrating on what I really needed and wanted for my life, I was able to make the following dreams come true:
  • I was able to see the country by creating a humanitarian tour "Cathy Harris Humanitarian Tour" and traveled by car to 15 states.
  • I was able to meet some of the people that I had been networking with on the internet for 10 to 15 years.
  • I was able to build my business, AngelsPress.com, by building my audience with my empowerment lectures, seminars, and workshops.
  • I was able to release a line of empowerment non-fiction easy-to-read e-books and paperback books for the entire family, which can be read by 12-year-olds and above.
To purge my life and get on the road -- it really wasn't that hard. To get on the road as a Speaker, Author, and Coach, you have to be healthy; eat healthy foods along the way; get regular exercise along the way; have a good running car; have a GPS; figure out where you will stay (family, friends, extended stay hotels, etc); and set up events.

I had dreamed 5 years earlier about getting on the road. I visualized it but there was a lot of obstacles in my way. I had these terrific friends that I could not leave. My mom was elderly and I knew if I left Georgia, I probably would not see her again - plus I was also unhealthy.

After becoming housebound and bedridden in 2007, and self-educating myself on how the human body works, I became a Holistic and Natural Health and Wellness Expert and launched the "National Non-GMO Health Movement" and wrote a line of health books about my experience.

Once I got healthy and after my friends and mom had passed on, it was just time for me to do what I truly wanted to do with my life. However, had I gotten on the road 5 years earlier, I would not have had access to all the great information that my company now offers especially the health seminars and the line of empowerment products

What was really one of my determining factors that made me realize now was the time to make my life-long dream come true of getting on the road was  -- after reading the book "Eat Right 4 Your Type."

The book was the icing on the cake for me and it helped me reach my maximum level of health and I eventually came up with my own wellness program "Cathy Harris 12 Steps to Wellness Programs," which are the 12 chapters (12 steps) in my first health book "How To Take Control of Your Own Life: A Self-Help Guide to Becoming Healthier Over the Next 30 Days (Series 3)."

Once I read the book and implemented the changes and started eating foods for my blood type, within a matter of days, I had a major surge of energy. Because I was eating good food, not only did I get a surge in energy, but my brain even worked better which allowed me to come up with my own plan of action to make my dreams come true.

Next, I sat down and compiled a list of every city that I wanted to visit and the people that I had been networking with over the years on the internet that I just had to meet.

I then looked at my living arrangements and since I had a relative in the Detroit area, I decided to go there first because of all the cities in the U.S., the city of Detroit had major issues, but I knew my company could make a difference with our line of empowerment lectures, seminars, and workshops.

So on Jan. 2, 2013, I sat out on my journey to make my life-long dreams come true of being a Speaker, Author, and Coach on the road and because of this -- I loved every minute of it.

The scenery was absolutely beautiful along the way especially from Youngstown, OH to New York. The green trees looked like the trees in the movie "Gorillas in the Mist." Sometimes the horizon ahead was so blue it looked like you were driving into an ocean but it was just the sky meeting the ground.

And what about the color of the trees around Halloween and Thanksgiving - the bright red, orange and yellow colors. I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. All of it made me think of my home in Georgia and I thought about how lucky I was to have spent the first 17 years of my life as a homesteader - working the land.

Even though the city of Detroit was extremely cold and it looked like a wasteland, in my neighborhood outside of Detroit, the view of the snow looked like a beautiful postcard. You just have to learn to see the beauty in everything.

I was raised in Georgia in the south, 2 hours outside of Atlanta, and had never in my life lived in snowy cold weather except when I was in Germany in the military in the 80s. I had never driven a car in snow so I had prepared to stop at a hotel if the weather got bad on my trip.

But all the way from Atlanta to Detroit, it was easy sailing. Even though there was snow on the sides of the roads, I had missed all the major snowstorms. It was like I was being guided by a force to live my dreams.

It was as if someone had made everything easy for me because when you step out on your faith to change your life and the people around you, everything will fall into place. Everything was happening to me in divine order.

I could have exited any of those exits in my one year travels on the road and set up my home. If you have a car and money coming in, you can actually move anywhere. Some people might not be able to get their lives together because they might be in the wrong city. Your family is not just your family. Your family could be the people you have met in your lives that have touched your hearts.

I love meeting people and don't know if I will ever get off the road. The biggest joy that I have experienced along the way on this tour is during my seminars and workshops when I see the light go on in my audience eyes especially young people when they realized they could indeed change their lives.

Now that I made my life-long dream come true of being on the road in 2013 by launching "Cathy Harris Humanitarian Tour," I can't wait to see what 2014 will bring but I have a good idea because again, I have already visualized it "Cathy Harris Empowerment Tour.

What I am saying to all of you is if you want your dreams to come true in 2014, keep walking in the directions of your dreams every day but come up with a plan of action to make them come true, but don't forget to put your health first. Embrace change and in return, it will embrace you with joy, peace, and happiness and I am living proof of that...Good luck!

Don’t Go to the Gym – Do a Detox Program First!

(Excerpts from “How To Take Control of Your Own Life: A Self-Help Guide to Becoming Healthier Over the Next 30 Days”) Series 3

Did you know that many people will start the New Year off by joining a gym and by the month of March (some by Valentine's Day) they will already be out of there?

Why You Should Engage in a Detox Program?

If you are apparently overweight with very low energy, then don’t go to the gym but instead engage in a detox program first.  This process will take anywhere from 1 to 2 to 3 weeks depending on the type of detoxification program you choose from a health food store.

Remember your health begins in your colon so a colon cleanse (detox) should be a priority while you work your way up to a liver and kidney detox.

Detoxification (detox for short) is a natural healing process needed more than ever in today’s toxic world. Just as the outer environments in which we live can become polluted with trash, violated with industrial chemicals, our inner environments (our bodies) can become filled with toxic garbage as well.

Many of these toxins come from our diets, drug use, and environmental exposure.  By engaging in a detoxification program we are actively assisting and supporting the body in its own natural cleansing actions to help in ridding the body of substances that may be detrimental to our health.

Learn how to find all the health food stores in your neighborhood and the type of detoxes you should purchase by reading the article at the end of this article or the health book.

Couch Potato Lifestyle

It’s estimated by many experts that this will be the first generation that WILL NOT outlive their parents.  The main reason is Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) found in 90% of foods in grocery stores which have no nutritional value and leading a sedentary (sitting posture) lifestyle.

A sedentary lifestyle or “the couch potato lifestyle” has contributed to over 200,000 PREVENTABLE deaths a year.  The leading causes of death for people with heart disease, cancer, stroke, kidney disease, liver disease, and diabetes are most strongly influenced by lifestyle.

What to Do Before Starting an Exercise Program

Before starting any type of regular exercise program see your doctor first to make sure your body can take working out.  Remember to always start off slow (start off walking) then work yourself up over the next few weeks and months to a more intense form of working out, if and only if, you are in shape for that type of workout.

If you have been sedentary for some time, try exercising in water.  Water aerobics are excellent for those who are overweight or who find walking or running difficult.

Some easy ways to add physical activity to your daily routine include:

  • Park the car farther away from your destination.
  • Get on or off the bus several blocks away.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
  • Take fitness breaks instead of cigarette or coffee breaks. Walk, stretch or do some office exercises.
  • Perform gardening, yard work, heavy house cleaning, or home-repair activities.
  • Exercise while watching TV.  For example, use hand weights, a stationary bike or treadmill, stretch, or perform body-weight exercises such as crunches, push-ups and squats.
  • Keep a pair of comfortable walking or running shoes in your car and office. You’ll be ready for activity wherever you go.
  • Walk while doing errands.

Know the Dangers of Working Out in a Gym

Many people will start the New Year off by joining a gym and by the month of March they will already be out of there.  Why?  Because they should have engaged in a detox program first so they could gain the long-term energy they will need to pace themselves.

Did you know you can freeze your membership at most gyms if you don’t plan on attending for a while?  Fitness gyms have memberships for $20 or $30 a month and you don’t have to sign a contract (LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, YMCAs, etc.).  But be careful when working out in a gym.

Some of the dangers of working out in a gym include:
  • Underqualified staff or physical trainers (untrained staff members pretending to know what they are doing)
  • Bacteria on equipment (including exercise mats so bring your own or clean off mats) and in showers (always wear shoes)
  • Faulty equipment (many persons have been paralyzed from using faulty equipment at gyms so pay attention and don’t exercise when you are sleepy or too tired).

Wear the Right Equipment to Work Out

It’s very motivational to have on the right equipment when you are working out especially your shoes.  If you plan on starting a walking program then invest in walking shoes.

Sports Authority has a great selection of workout clothes and tennis shoes for under $60.  If you have a foot injury then chances are you will stop working out altogether so invest in expensive socks so your feet can feel comfortable.

If you plan on starting an aerobic program then buy cross-trainer shoes.  If you plan on running everyday then invest in running shoes.

Don’t forget that water bottle so you can sip water throughout your workout.  Wearing the right equipment will help you feel good about yourself and will help you get results even sooner.

Warm It Up

Make sure you warm up before exercising. Your warm-up is just as important as your workout, however, with busy schedules, people forget to stretch and heat up their bodies. Many just settle for a few toe-touches which can leave them in pain or injured.

A good warm-up will provide increased flexibility and will activate the necessary muscles for training and competition. It also speeds up your blood flow and causes your core temperature to rise, which will prepare you to train at your highest levels. Good preparation makes for a great workout.

Preventing Soreness When Exercising

Getting sore after exercising will not only keep you from continuing to exercise, it might make you stop all together.  Therefore, to prevent soreness remember to use natural remedies for soreness versus the over-the-counter creams that can leak into your blood system and cause your body to become toxic.

For instance, always keep Epsom salt by your bathtub to use when you go home from the gym and for muscle cramps rub pure, unprocessed olive or flaxseed oil into your muscles before and after strenuous exercise.

The Right Way to Lose Weight

In order to lose weight, you must exercise.  When you look at the people that are successful at losing weight and keeping it off, they are active, plain and simple.

Being overweight is caused most often by overeating and under-exercising.  Excessive weight can increase the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, some forms of cancer, diabetes, and gallstones.

Get Some Type of Cardiovascular Exercise

The more fit you are, the longer you are likely to live.  Being fit usually means you engage in some type of “cardio” or “cardiovascular” exercise.  Cardiovascular exercises are any type of exercise that gets your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 20 to 30 minutes.

Everyone should be engaged in some type of cardiovascular exercise (fast or power walking, running, aerobics, swimming, bicycling/spinning, etc.) at least 3, 4 or 5 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes.
